Mission:

• Facilitate school/home communication

• Promote international parental involvement at every school

• Improve literacy and academic achievement through parental involvement in the student’s education

• Encourage parental leadership in the school and community

• Facilitate family self-sufficiency

• Promote the understanding of cultural diversity

• Promote professional learning opportunities and ESOL Endorsement

• Facilitate the following programs: • Studies abroad (Brazil, Korea, Mexico) • Master of Salamanca (Spain/Cobb County School District satellite) • Portuguese Language Immersion, Middlebury College

Services Description:

Facilitators manage a network of support services and activities in several languages specific to the needs of families requesting information about their schools. Services provided:

• Interpretation & translation in multiple languages district-wide

• Online Document Library - TransAct

• Orientation on school information for families

• Resources and ideas for international parental involvement

• Cultural diversity workshops

• Multilingual workshops on various topics of interest to schools, parents and community stakeholders
